Established in the year 1996 at Delhi, we, Astik (India) Private Limited, are one of the prominent Manufacturers and Supplier of quality Wooden Pallets, Wooden Packaging Box and Wooden Crate. These are widely used by many industries for the packaging of their export consignments. These are manufactured using quality wood in compliance with industrial quality guidelines. Most packaging materials are made using raw wood, which is prone to becoming pest-infested within a short time period. The secretariat of IPPC, in an attempt to control the spread of pests by various wooden packaging materials, appointed a panel of experts to come up with an effective solution to address the issue. The focus was on the preparation of appropriate standards to identify the approved measures that lead to the reduction in the spread of pests as well as prepare appropriate standards for the same.

Soon after, in the year 2002, the FOAs’ interim commission on phytosanitary measures adopted the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures, which was aptly termed “Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in the International Trade”. The approved measures involved the Heat Treatment  of wood packaging, which required heating timber to a minimum core temperature of 56 degrees C for Minimum 30 Minutes. The second procedure involves Fumigation, which is done using Methyl Bromide to the relevant specification. Since these treatments involve several technical aspects and proper knowledge, these should be performed by accredited agencies only.
